Wandering Winter Solstice Concert with Make Music New York

Friday, December 21 | Noon–1:30 p.m. | Meet at Magnolia Plaza

Celebrate the start of winter as baritone Christopher Dylan Herbert presents a new realization of Franz Schubert’s Winterreise (winter journey), a song cycle that sets to music 24 poems by Wilhelm Müller. The performance will migrate throughout the Garden, using nature as a backdrop for the vivid imagery of Müller’s poetry and Schubert’s music, with German-to-English supertitles created by students from Parsons The New School for Design. Audience members will provide the musical accompaniment using handheld radios provided by Make Music New York.
