Trinidadian born Gloria's has become a multicultural Caribbean hub, supplying time honored recipes that draws customers from all around. Visiting for the Labor Day holiday, we had the opportunity to talk with some of Gloria's international customers. Gillian Waterman, a Canadian of Trinidadian decent proclaimed, "Let everyone know that the international customers are enjoying Gloria's!" Her friend and Brooklyn born native Kira Brereton also confirmed by saying that they didn't just happen to stop in for lunch, but Gloria's was a planned, 'we've got to go eat there while you are in town,' trip! Ms. Brereton, one of the esteemed lawyers for the Labor Day parade, and of proud Panamanian descendent, said that she could remember when Gloria's was operating out of a small Chinese food style store front. She added, "It was still fabulous then!"
It is exactly for the enjoyment of customers like Gillian and Kira, and the love of our community that Gloria's West Indian Restaurant {The Next Generation} continues to operate under the supervision and care of her children; yet, with the same unmistakeable flavors that bolstered Gloria's to a top seat in the hearts of the Caribbean community.
